ABOUT yarn
ellen cheto ensures that each of its garments are handknitted from very soft and natural yarn of merino wool - the most natural wool, which is similar to human hair and does not cause allergies. Taking into account the sensitive babies’ and children skin, ellen cheto does not use the creaky (irritating) wool.
Wool is a living material with its unique features:
- Wool protect against cold, its structure allows to isolate air which forms an insulating layer.
- Wool absorbs the moisture: it can take up to 40% of the body’s humidity or 30 times more than synthetic materials.
- Wool is hygienic: it absorbs very little dust, which reduces the bacterial growth. It can neutralize odors of sweat, urine, etc.
- Wool is renewable: after each sheep trimming it grows up during one year.
- Wool is soft, light and strong: it can be twisted and then regains its original form.
- Wool is 100% biodegradable: it can even be composted and used for soil enrichment.
